JAPAN
Amela® was born in 1996 in Japan, where today it is a tomato of great prestige and the market leader in tomatoes with a high Brix rating.
Thanks to the cultivation method used, Amela® has been able to reach degrees of sweetness higher than that of the common tomato. Amela® means “sweet” in the Japanese dialect spoken in the city of Shizuoka.
In the cultivation of Amela® the size of the crop is sacrificed in favour of taste and excellence.
